Hollywood Peel or Carbon Peel

The idea of this treatment is to boost collagen synthesis, skin radiance, reduce active acne and seborrhoea (oily skin) as the sessions progress, thanks to the action of the heat induced in the skin by the carbon.

The Hollywood Peel procedure, step by step

After discussing which areas need treating with your laser specialist (face, neck and/or décolleté), we apply a carbon solution (particles of carbon mixed with a soothing mineral oil) to cleansed skin.
This mask takes 10 to 15 minutes to apply.
Special protective glasses designed for the Hollywood Spectra laser must be worn by the patient and the doctor throughout the session.

The doctor passes the laser across the skin, targeting the carbon particles. This leads to a thermal effect, meaning that the heat is diffused from the skin’s surface to its deeper layers (dermis). The cells responsible for collagen synthesis (fibroblasts) contract and collagen synthesis is thus stimulated for the long term.

The doctor then passes the laser over the skin a second time, in order to pulverise the carbon particles. The effect of this is visible, as the carbon mask is destroyed by the laser. This step exfoliates the dead superficial cells, tightens the pores, and reduces sebum (oily skin) and therefore acne.
The sensation is always surprising at the beginning, when the first laser shots are fired, but it is not painful. The laser makes a dull sound, a bit like clapping, but the patient quickly gets used to the sound.

The session is rounded off by gently wiping off any remaining carbon and can be enhanced with a session of light therapy (LEDs) and a soothing and hydrating mask, if required (optional extra).

Protocol

At the end of the session, the skin feels softer, smoother and we see an immediate “radiance-boosting” effect that will last for several days, if the treatment is not repeated.

We recommend having 4 to 6 sessions spaced around 3 weeks apart, in order to achieve long-lasting results over several months.

Finally, to go one step further with this treatment, we can combine it with a mesolift session to deeply hydrate the skin, stimulate its tonicity and boost radiance. This is part of the Hollywood Lift protocol.

Whatever treatment protocol you choose, we recommend applying high-factor sun protection (SPF50+) for the week following treatment.

Counterindications

Like for any aesthetic medicine treatment, patient safety is the doctor’s priority. Therefore, there are some counterindications to consider before undergoing this type of treatment:

Essential oils should not be applied locally or taken orally in the days before the treatment
Creams containing fruit acids or retinol should not be applied in the 48 hours before treatment
No sauna, steam room, exfoliation treatments in the 72 hours before the session
The skin must not be fragile, damaged or infected
The patient should not be pregnant or breastfeeding (as a precaution)

Carbon Laser Peel or Hollywood Peel: from 200 euros per session (+/- 30 euros for light therapy and/or hydrating mask)
Hollywood Lift (Carbon Peel + Mesolift + hydrating mask + LEDs): from 350 euros per session
