Located in the upper third of the face, glabellar lines are a type of expression line that can make certain patients look very stern.
When they are vertical and lateral, they are formed by the contraction of the corrugator supercilii muscles located along the eyebrow arch. When they are horizontal and central, they are formed by the contraction of the procerus muscle, which goes up towards the root of the nose and interlaces with the occipitofrontalis muscle. Most of the time, these are the first type of wrinkle to appear on the face and are the reason people first consult an aesthetics doctor.
